These Terms govern your access to and use of Yapless (the "Service"), provided by Yapless ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, downloading the Mac app, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 to purchase a paid plan. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at support@getyapless.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
2. Subscriptions and payments
We offer two plans:
- Monthly ($29/month): A recurring subscription billed each month until you cancel. Cancel any time from the Stripe customer portal; access continues through the end of the current billing period.
- Founder Lifetime ($199 one-time): A one-time payment that grants ongoing access to the Service for as long as Yapless operates. Limited to the first 100 customers; once filled, the lifetime offer ends.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes, which may be added at checkout. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice; existing Founder Lifetime purchases are honored regardless of future price changes. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
3. AI processing and voice cloning
Yapless uses third-party AI providers to clean transcripts, generate titles, and synthesize speech in your cloned voice. The Service:
- Sends your transcripts to Anthropic Claude for cleanup and titling.
- Sends a voice sample you record to ElevenLabs to create an Instant Voice Clone, used only to re-voice short fumbled passages within recordings you create.
- Stores screen recordings, voice samples, and avatars on Stack0 (object storage built on AWS S3).
Voice clone consent. Before creating a voice clone you must affirmatively consent that the voice being cloned is your own (or that you have explicit written permission from the voice owner). Cloning a voice without consent is prohibited and grounds for immediate termination. We log your consent and the consent version at enrollment time.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Impersonate any person, including by cloning a voice you don't have permission to use;
- Produce content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or violent;
- Mislead viewers about who is speaking — re-voiced audio is still you (or whoever you have permission to clone), not a synthetic identity;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Service's source code (the Mac app's code is part of the Service);
- Resell, sublicense, or distribute the Service or any outputs in a way that competes with Yapless;
- Exceed reasonable usage limits — we may rate-limit or suspend abusive accounts.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the screen recordings, audio, and any materials you upload to or generate with the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you and to your authorized viewers (e.g., share-link recipients). We don't use Your Content to train models, and we don't share it with anyone other than the third-party providers listed in Section 3 and only to the extent necessary to process it.
6. Service availability
The Service is provided "as is" and we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Service running, but we make no SLA commitments at this time. We'll notify subscribers of significant planned downtime when possible.
7. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account from the dashboard; doing so removes your stored recordings, voice clone, and account data. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms (notably Section 3 voice-clone consent or Section 4 acceptable use). On termination, paid plans receive refunds per the Refund Policy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yapless's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $100. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
